Cannot fault the property or the host. The property is in a good location only a short walk from the town centre. Plenty of places near by for food just ask the host and she will be able to direct. My room was clean, tidy, comfortable with everything I needed. I had a room with a private bath room. The bath room was very nice with a full size shower unit again very clean and tidy like the room. As it was a separate room it benefited from having Windows which you can open to let in air. The host Kath, was very helpful making sure all her guests had everything they need on arrival and through out our stay. Breakfast was severed in the dining room which was decorated well and had a nice homely feel. I had the continental breakfast which there was plenty of and Cath was very accommodating to guest requirements. Highly recommended and when I am back in the area I will be using Eskdale again.
Excellent little guest house near the river. Very clean and very quiet. Room was cleaned, fresh towels and toiletries and bottle of water plus biscuits even if I only stayed 2 nights..fantastic service and a great price.
Eskdale Guest House is lovely. I felt warmly welcomed right away and after long travels I was thankful for a clean room, comfortable bed, hot shower, and reliable WiFi. The house is beautiful. The detailed decorations include a Scottish rug in almost every room of the house. I loved the view outside my window. The local shops and restaurants are very close - an easy walking distance. The continental breakfast was simple yet good - some of the best local honey! It was quiet and easy to sleep here.
Absolutely fantastic, very welcoming couldn't do enough to help room with ensuite was so lovely more little extras than anywhere else I have stayed and breakfast was a real treat brilliant selection, grilled breakfast wasn't expecting as much for the price will be back next year
Room and bathroom clean and comfortable, it's a bit dated but all perfectly ok. Host is lovely and will look after you. Good parking and room to store bicycle
Excellent location, very close to city centre. Staff were very helpful and attentive, especially Kathy, who went out of her way numerous times to help us. The rooms were very clean too. Would highly recommend staying here.
Very welcoming, clean, every facility available in room even plug in to charge mobile. Room 1 is small and sadly the pipes are noisy when others use water which at midnight is disturbing. Kathy is lovely, helpful and her breakfasts are better than any in larger establishments and that is without the obligatory bacon and eggs.
